My husband and I had the pleasure of checking out the holiday event this past weekend. We caught the free Double Decker bus ride from the Tennessee Aquarium up to Ruby Falls were we were greeted by real snow! Decked out in beautiful Christmas lights, the Castle of Ruby Falls immediately set the tone for the entire trip! We were able to enjoy a hot chocolate and listen to a local musician play holiday songs, took a horse carriage ride, and then took a lovely tour of the falls.
Now, I can not ashamed to admit it, I haven't been to Ruby Falls since I was in the 1st or 2nd grade. Thats been 20 years! We have this beautiful natural wonder in our back door and I haven't been there but one time!
Not only did we get to enjoy the natural wonders of the cave, but Ruby Falls added a very charming holiday twist to the event. While enjoying the falls, a local choir sang traditional carols and just made the already breathtaking falls even more special and magical!
The entire tour was made even better by the tour guide, Andy. He kept us laughing and talking the entire tour! He made the trip even better! You all probably know as well as I do that a tour guide can make or break a tour and Andy was amazing!!!
