Crabtree Farms’ 14th Annual Spring Plant Sale & Festival will once again offer gardeners the healthiest, sustainably-grown fruit, vegetable, flower, and herb plant starts for their spring/summer garden. Now three days, the first day of the Plant Sale will be all about the plants. With extended hours this year, we're trying to help you beat the crowds by offering an extra day of shopping that is focused on what you really want: the best vegetable starts available in Chattanooga.
Saturday and Sunday will feature free gardening workshops, and live music from Clark Williams, Rick Davis, Jim "The Organic Man" Everett, the Lazenby Family Band, and Chris Conn, as well as delicious food and crafts from local vendors and artisans. Enjoy a bratwurst from the Missing Link Sausage Cart, boiled peanuts from Rusty’s Nutz, and treats from the Hot Chocolatier, while browsing for art, soap, woodwork, succulents and other beautiful home and gift items from local vendors all day Saturday and Sunday of the sale.
A Kid’s Activity Corner offering face painting and farm games will also be available for families to enjoy throughout the weekend. Macaroni Kid Chattanooga will have hands-on activities for kids on Saturday and Sunday, and the Bookmark Fairy will be onsite reading aloud to children on Sunday.
Amidst the festivities of the Spring Plant Sale and Festival, Crabtree Farms will host a Local Brunch on the Farm on Sunday from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. to celebrate the release of the latest edition of the TasteBuds Local Food Guide. TasteBuds is the regional guide for finding local foods grown and crafted within 100 miles of Chattanooga. This issue features a profile on local chefs, explains the benefits of local beef, shines a light on the wild edible plants of our region, and offers tricks for stretching your food dollar. Pick up a free copy and enjoy a relaxing brunch on the farm. The menu features the unique flavors of the Chattanooga region, highlighting options from local restaurants. Plates are $10 for adults, $5 for kids (10 and under), and will be limited to 50 people.
