Christmas is an annual holiday in the United States and other countries to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.  It is also celebrated in unique ways in different countries.   Christmas in the United States always brings together many customs from other countries and cultures.  Everywhere around the world, family members help to decorate the tree and homes with lights, wreaths, candles, holly, mistletoe, and ornaments.  Sure these things are fun and give you that festive feeling which is fine.  But before we open our Christmas present this year, let the children we love know the real reason for the season.

Christ is the reason for Christmas.  He was born from a virgin, his mother Mary.  His birth was anything but ordinary.

Matthew 1: 20 - 21 But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. 21 She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus because he will save his people from their sins.”

Christ was born to not only bring peace, love and hope to the earth but to reconcile our relationship with God.

Let's take time out this holiday season to say "Thank You and Happy Birthday Jesus".  A Savior Is Born.
